 In 2005 Hero in the Netherlands began production of a new product - Fruit2Day®. This is a very special type of fruit juice containing pieces of whole fruit in an attractive bottle. After a survey of the available technology on the market, the Sterijuice and Asep-Tec® made by Stork Food & Dairy Systems were selected for the sterilisation and aseptic filling of this product.
The Hero product quickly proved very successful so the company decided to increase its production capacity with a second production line and more recently even with a third. Hero has since brought other, likewise very special, health-oriented products onto the market, which also make use of these lines. The third line we supplied Hero with was recently brought on stream and is now in full commercial production. In an interview with the trade periodical “The Filling Business” (December 2006) Mr. Witte van Capelle, general manager of the Hero factory, speaks about the development of their products and the relationship with Stork and the stringent requirements Stork was faced with.
